EXPERIENCE

Fred began his business career in 1971 after graduating from Luther College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and majors in Accounting, Business Administration and Economics. He was hired by Arthur Andersen & Company as an Accountant and later joined his family’s business, Hedberg & Sons Company, as a Vice President. In 1983, Fred joined Welsh Companies (now Colliers) focusing on the sale and leasing of office and industrial properties and land in the Twin Cities area.

Along with his partner, Phil Simonet, Fred founded Paramount Real Estate Corp in 1996. Their on-going professional philosophy of honesty and integrity has formed their excellent reputation and is an integral characteristic of each employee at Paramount.

Fred maintains several professional affiliations which are awarded to top brokers dedicated to professionalism and ethical business practices. He was named Minnesota Commercial Realtor of the Year for 2002 in recognition of his dedication, service, distinguished professionalism and outstanding contribution to the industry. Fred was also recognized by an independent survey of Twin Cities business people as part of a select group of commercial real estate brokers to earn the “Five Star—Best In Client Satisfaction” designation in 2009 and 2010. In 2018, Fred was recognized as one of Minnesota’s most powerful business executives in Minnesota 500. Fred has served on numerous non-profit as well as business boards during his career.

EDUCATION

Fred earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and majors in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics from Luther College in 1971.
